Sharon Mehdi has been prodded by spirit several times in her life to make what she calls journeys of faith -- twice to Guatemala to work with orphans and the blind; twice to the Southwest on projects that offered hope to the poor and disenfranchised; once to an ancient pilgrimage site in northern Spain to deliver prayers from friends around the country. Journeys of healing, of hope, of forgiveness.

On March 1, 2006, Sharon began another journey, this time for peace. Starting in California, she is taking The Great Silent Grandmother Gathering on the road where she is reading it in churches, at schools, in private homes, and in centers where older people gather.

She is doing this because the message she continues to receive from people around the country and around the world is that the story offers hope -- hope that our smallest, simplest actions can have great impact. Can even lead to peace. Right now we deeply, desperately need that hope. You can follow Sharon's adventures by clicking on the button, left.

Praise for the book...
Deborah from ASHLAND:
“This story that is so simple and so poignant illustrates the power of collective action…
There is a tremendous lot of power that can be generated just by collective presence.”
